Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope! (Romans 15:13 TPT emphasis added)

Trust — a bold, confident, sure security or action based on that security.

(noun) Assured resting of the mind on the integrity, veracity, justice, friendship, or other sound principle, of another person; confidence; reliance; reliance.

(verb) To be confident, as of something future; to hope. (Webster’s Revised Unabridged Dictionary)

13. God is the source of hope. We can trust him.

When we trust him, he causes us to radiate with hope.

Romans 15:13 God is the inspiration and fountain of hope

1 Timothy 1:1 Jesus is our life-giver and our living hope.

Hebrews 6:18-19 It is impossible for God to lie. So if he said it, we can trust it is so.

So it is impossible for God to lie for we know that his promise and his vow will never change!
And now we have run into his heart to hide ourselves in his faithfulness. This is where we find his strength and comfort, for he empowers us to seize what has already been established ahead of time—an unshakeable hope
We have this certain hope like a strong, unbreakable anchor holding our souls to God himself. Our anchor of hope is fastened to the mercy seat which sits in the heavenly realm beyond the sacred threshold, (TPT emphasis added)

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (ESV)

14. Hope and trust

Most of the references to hope combine it with faith and one of the meanings of trust is to hope.

Both faith and hope are gifts from God. By trusting in God and his promises, we have hope.

So faith, hope, and trust are inseparable.

Romans 15:13 is encouraging and comforting.

…may you all find peace in trusting him and hope in the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. (The Epistles of Paul in Modern English, A Paraphrase 1898)

However, I fall far short of Paul’s prayer so I’m turning it into a personalized prayer. I want that!
