13. Armor of light

God is light and Jesus is the light of the world. They are our full armor.

If I had to pick one article of armor from the list in Ephesians 6:10-18, I’d pick the breastplate of righteousness.  The ephod symbolizes this, perhaps. Believers are part of the royal priesthood.

We are clothed in Jesus’ righteousness and holiness. Our dirty, filthy rags removed.

It reminds me of the Transfiguration. Peter, James, and John saw Jesus as He truly was. I believe that is also our true appearance in the spiritual realm, like a cloaking device. It quenches every fiery arrow of the evil one.

…He was transfigured before them, and His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became white as light. (Matthew 17:2 ESV)

You are like that illuminating light. Let your light shine everywhere you go, that you may illumine creation,so men and women everywhere may see your good actions, may see creation at its fullest, may see your devotion to Me, and may turn and praise your Father in heaven because of it. (Matthew 5:16 Voice)

14. Jesus is the light of and to the world.

Then Jesus said, “I am the light to the world and those who embrace me will experience life-giving light, and they will never walk in darkness.” (John 8:12 TPT)

Note on John 8:12 TPT — “The Aramaic is ‘they will never be driven (pushed) by the darkness.'”

God is light, pure light. You will never find even a trace of darkness in Him. … If we keep living in the pure light that surrounds Him, we share unbroken fellowship …” (1 John 1:5-7 TPT)

15. Clothing myself with the Lord Jesus Christ

–Set my affections on Jesus.

–Pray in the Holy Spirit.

–Meditate on my union with Christ. I am IN Him and He is IN me!

–As He is, so am I in this world. It’s who is really am.

–Fully immerse [myself] into the Lord Jesus, the Anointed One. (Romans 13:14a TPT)

–I can ask for my daily bread — food for my body — “but don’t waste even a moment’s thought on [my] former identity to awaken its selfish desires. (Romans 13:14b)” (emphasis added)

–The more I meditate on Him and renew my mind to align with His, the less often I will have selfish desires.
