Revelation Lesson 6 Day 5 Laodicea 2

Laodicea Part 2

Revelation 3:14-22

13. A. “Here’s what I want you to do:

Buy your gold from me, gold that’s been through the refiner’s fire. Then you’ll be rich. Buy your clothes from me, clothes designed in Heaven. You’ve gone around half-naked long enough. And buy medicine for your eyes from me so you can see, really see.” Revelation 3:19 MSG

Isaiah 1:18 100% complete forgiveness makes one rich. Faith in the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness and provides a pure, white garment.

Isaiah 61:10

No amount of earthly wealth comes close to the joy of the Lord that overwhelms me.

For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation
and draped me in a robe of righteousness.
I am like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding
or a bride with her jewels.”

1 Corinthians 15:53-58

Supernatural spiritual transformation from mortal to immortal bodies

Victory over death and the threat of death caused by sin

Jesus Christ’s death gives us victory over sin AND death.

Be strong and immovable–stand your ground–enthusiastic for the Lord. Don’t hold back.

Nothing we do for Him is a waste of time or effort. Our worship, our praise, our service to others–nothing that pleases Him is ever useless.

Colossians 3:12-17

Clothe yourselves with tender-hearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.  (I’m picturing an outfit with fruit all over it. ) NLT

Regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it. MSG

1 Peter 1:3-9

Through God who loves us so much and is so rich in mercy, we have a priceless inheritance.

We rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy.

The reward for trusting Him will be the eternal salvation of our souls.

B. Rewards

I stand at the door [of the church] and continually knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him (restore him), and he with Me.

He who overcomes [the world through believing that Jesus is the Son of God], I will grant to him [the privilege] to sit beside Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down beside My Father on His throne. Revelation 3:20-21 AMP (emphasis added)

14. A. God corrects us because He loves us.

God has a plan and purpose for each of our lives. He is patient and merciful.

When our actions affect others, God will step in to get our attention.

Deuteronomy 8:4-7 This is God speaking to the younger generation who didn’t remember Egypt. They suffered for their parents’ stubbornness. He lets them know He sees them as His children. He desires to bless them. His love for them is the reason they should keep His commandments.

Proverbs 3:12  “The Lord loves us regardless of who we are and what we do. But He loves us so much, He doesn’t want to leave us the way we are.” AWMI

1 Corinthians 11:32   Paul says God is correcting His own children about the way they observe communion. They don’t have to worry about being condemned along with the wicked.

Hebrews 12:4-11  God’s discipline toward His children isn’t punitive but corrective. God uses His Word to correct us (2 Timothy 3:16-17) not sickness and heartache.  AWMI He is a good, good Father.

B. Love motivates everything God does.

I want an intimate relationship with the Lord to be my One Thing. His Word leads me into all truth.  I’m so thankful for His patience and abiding love.
