Revelation Lesson 29 Day 5 Soon

Is Jesus Coming Soon?

Day 5 Revelation 22:6-21

11. Sense of urgency

shortly, i.e. without delay, soon, or (by surprise) suddenly, or (by implication of ease) readily :- lightly, quickly. (Strong’s)

Does this mean His coming will happen suddenly, or is it speaking of it coming shortly relative to John’s time? Andrew Wommack’s Living Commentary.

During this in-depth study of the book of Revelation, I’ve noticed how many times soon and quickly are mentioned.  The vision is not sealed up the way it was when Daniel received a similar vision.

Some think it means He was coming in judgment against Jerusalem the way He did in 70 AD.

But that doesn’t explain everything.

12. Impact of Rev 22:6-21

When I read about the way John was in the Spirit of the Lord’s day, saw the realms of heaven, learned of things to come, and experienced worship in heaven, I think, “I want that!”

Now! On earth as it is in heaven.

What if His kingdom really is at hand? Now? Is it new because it is the new covenant?

We are new creations.

I’m probably not the only one who hoped to end this study with more answers than questions.

I also want a greater ability to reach others with the love of Jesus—Not for the fear of eternal damnation, but for the joy of spending our days and eternity with the lover of our soul.

Not only that, but I can’t imagine the emptiness of a life without God the Father, Jesus the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit. If you haven’t tried it, what do you have to lose?
