Acts 5:12-16

6. Power Continues

Apostle means special messenger.

By the apostles hands the people witnessed many “startling signs and wonders.” (Acts 5:12 AMPC)

The believers continued getting together in unity at Solomon’s porch.

7. a. The people esteemed them highly. (Acts 5:13 NKJV)

Peter was so well-known for healing miracles, they laid the sick along the streets believing that healing power radiated from him.

The outsiders left them alone because they held them in such high esteem.

Esteemed, megaluno; Strong’s Concordance #3170: To make great, to enlarge, to magnify, to increase, to make conspicuous to extol, to show respect, to hold in high esteem. When Ananias and Sapphira were judged, many shrank from associating with the apostles and their services. Despite all this, the public looked at the new Christian worshipers favorably (megaluno). (Nelson: Spirit Filled Life Bible page 1634)

Many poured in from towns near Jerusalem “bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits: and they were ALL healed.” (Acts 5:16 WEB)

b. My response

I want that! I’ve witnessed miraculous healings, and I want to see many more sick and tormented people healed.
